Law as a Complementary Subject

Law as a complementary subject can be studied at the University of Bremen as part of a two-subject Bachelor degree programme. 60 credit points are awarded; a profile course “Law Studies” is not available. In principle, law as a complementary subject can be combined with any other profile course offered at the University of Bremen (excepting teaching degree programmes). If a combination of subjects is not recommended, it is advisable to consult the departmental student advice service before registration. The Bachelor thesis is written on a subject of the profile course.

The complementary subject course starts with basic modules providing an overview of the law and its fields, provisions and methods, from the outset including European and international law as well as national law.

In the third semester, students choose in-depth modules with an emphasis on civil law, public law or criminal law in accordance with their personal preferences.
