Juridicum
The Juridicum, a decentralised library of the State and University Library Bremen, provides the University of Bremen, and in particular the Faculty of Law, with legal literature. It offers a large number of printed and electronic publications and information in the fields of German, European and international law.
Closing expected until 10.01.2021
The Juridicum will remain closed from 16.12.2020 until approximately 10.01.2021. Current information and dates can be found on the SuUB homepage . You can send your questions to the Juridicum until 22.12.2020 by email at juridicumprotect me ?!suub.uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de or by telephone at (0421) 218 69757.
You will not be able to reach the Juridicum from 23.12.2020 up to and including 03.01.2021.
Airing every 20 minutes
In order to reduce the risk of infection, the Juridicum is shock-ventilated every 20 minutes for 3-5 minutes since 09.11.2020. A low room temperature is to be expected, so that the wearing of warm clothing is recommended.
Level 3 (European law) is closed to the public
Since 09.11.2020, only levels 1 and 2 are available to users of the Juridicum. Level 3 (European law) is closed to the public. The stock there can be found on level 1.
Duty to wear masks
As of 02.11.2020, mouth-nose masks must be worn in the Juridicum at the booked individual workplaces.
Restricted Juridicum Services due to the Corona Pandemic
The restrictions caused by the Corona pandemic have also affected the Juridicum. An adapted concept has been developed in order to continue providing you with services in the current situation. The Rocket.chat service is a basic communication application for the exchange of short messages with the Juridicum staff. The service is available from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 4 pm.

The legal online portal Juris offers access to more than 6 million legislative texts as well as a comprehensive collection of German and European case law.
morePlaces of learning/working places: From Monday to Friday between 10 am and 8 pm a maximum of 50 individual working places are available for longer use at the Juridicum, which can be booked with a valid library card. ATTENTION: As of 02.11.2020, mouth-nose-masks must be worn at the Juridicum at the booked individual workplaces. Due to the ventilation measures to be carried out (airing every 20 minutes at 3-5 minutes intervals), warm clothing is recommended, as a low room temperature is to be expected in the Juridicum. |

Copy delivery service (service for members of Bremen universities): The SuUB offers an order service for papers from its print journals and excerpts from books of the central library and the Juridicum. This service is available for all members of Bremen universities. Further information can be found here. |

Lending services
We regret that special lending services for students cannot be provided at the moment.
Lecturers and research assistants who are entitled to make use of special lending services can still borrow books during emergency servics by pre-ordering with an e-mail to juridicumprotect me ?!suub.uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de, collection is by appointment.
How can I return my library books?
Return of borrowed books is contactless at the moment. Borrowed media should be left in the return box which has been placed in our provisional entrance area. Please note that books can only be returned during our opening times between 12 pm and 8 pm (extended opening hours from 19.10.: Mon-Fri 10 am to 8 pm, Sat 10 am to 6 pm) and that the box will only be emptied and returns registered on the next working day.
