Mobile Space

The "Mobile Space" is a functional artwork developed together with artist Veronica Andres, to address mobility, an essential part of international scientist’s lives. This space is not only a symbolic representation of their mobile lives more so, it is created to offer space for creative ideas, exchange of expertise and experiences of working, studying and living in Bremen. An innovative way of re-claiming space for encounters that will foster the visibility of international women scientists, build networks and solidarity to support their professional mobility in science.

The Mobile Space, is literally a wagon that can be moved around on wheels and ‘unfold’ itself to offer a physical space in form of rotatable desks and boxes with material such as on diversity projects at the University, as well as a toy box for occasions when children join us at a meeting. This space can be transported outdoors and offers a ‘space’ that can be created with least bureaucracy and hindrances in terms of booking rooms/spaces at the University for formal and informal exchange between teams, international scientists/ early career researchers and those who engage in the area of gender equity and diversity.

The Mobile Space is available for pick up in GW 2 Turm B, 1.OG (meeting location in front of the GW2 Cafeteria)
