Research areas
Sustainable communication networks: these are networks, which are sustainable by design and enable sustainable applications at the same time. I am mostly interested in nature-inspired communication protocols and algorithms for wireless, opportunistic, sensor and actuator networks. Furthermore, the human as a user of these networks is put in the center of the algorithmic design. Applications range from Smart Grid, Smart City and Smart Home to Disaster Management and remote area communications.
