Incoming Students

The Institute of Political Science offers for exchange students a great range of courses taught in German and in English.

The Institute of Political Science offers several BA- and MA study programmes: BA Political Science, MA Political Science, MA Social Policy and MA International Relations, Global Governance and Social Theory. For your learning agreement you can choose from courses in these study programs as well as from other courses offered in the Department of Social Sciences (FB 8). Courses in political science usually offer the option to obtain 3 or 6 credit points depending on the kind of exam you have to pass at the end of the semester.

Please note that complete course lists usually are not available before August for the Winter Semester and not before before February for the Summer Semester.

The International Office of the University of Bremen offers a great range of information regarding the Erasmus program and your stay in Bremen in general. If you are enrolling at the Institute of Political Science via an exchange program, you can read the relevant information about your nomination and important deadlines here. Additionally, you can have a look at the website of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which also provides lots of information about studying in Germany.

You are welcome to participate in the orientation program for incoming students organised by the International Office in cooperation with the Erasmus Initiative Bremen which usually takes place two or three weeks before lectures start. In the first week of each semester, the Erasmus coordinator of the Institute of Political Science also offers a special office hour for incoming Erasmus students.
