Partnerships outside Europe

Studying at the Chung-Ang University, South Korea

Since August 2015, students of MA Political Science, MA IR and MA Social Policy have the opportunity to apply for a study abroad program at the Center for German and European Studies (ZeDES) of the South Korean Chung-Ang University, which is one of the best in South Korea (the exchange startet end of January 2016). The exchange agreement provides for two exchange places per academic year for the IPW. The courses at ZeDES are more interesting for students of Cultural Studies. However, exchange students of Political Science can take courses in English at the Graduate School of International Studies. For further information please contact the IPW's International Relations Officer, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Haunss.

Studying at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

The cooperation agreement between the University of Bremen and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, in force since 2013, enables students of the Master of Political Science and the Master of Social Policy to study abroad in China. Each year, up to three students can study in Shanghai for one semester as exchange students. It is also possible to study for one year in Shanghai after completing the Master's degree in Bremen and to obtain a double master's degree. In the case of the exchange programme, the Chinese tuition fees are waived, but not in the case of the double master. Contact person for studying abroad at Shanghai Jiao Tong University is Prof. Kerstin Martens.

In addition to the partnerships of the IPW, students can also take advantage of the cooperations of Faculty 8 and the entire University of Bremen, which are listed here. The International Office also provides experience reports (in German language) as well as information on funding opportunities for studying in non-European countries.
