APPLICATION:

Please create a single PDF document comprising the following documents:

 

1- Text of the proposal following the guidelines (can be found on the MAPEX Core Facility webpage) and not exceeding four A4 pages

2- Curriculum Vitae (max. two pages) including a list of the most relevant publications and conference contributions

3- A letter from the host (scientist from an external institution), including a statement confirming the feasibility of the experiments as well as that the facilities and the workspace needed to realize the proposed project will be available

4- A letter of recommendation from your direct supervisor or group leader (MAPEX member);

5- A signed declaration that

(a) the candidate agrees to adhere to the standard rules of good scientific practice set by the DFG

(b) in case of publications of results obtained during the research stay or obtained with measurements funded by this grant, funding through the MAPEX-CF research grant will be explicitly acknowledged

6- For doctoral candidates and master students: proof that you are actively pursuing a degree at the University of Bremen.

5-Letter of recommendation from the MAPEX host, including a statement confirming that the facilities as well as the workspace needed to carry out the proposed project will be available from the start and for the entire period of the envisaged stay.

6-A signed declaration that

- the candidate agrees to adhere to the standard rules of good scientific practice, as set for instance by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

- in case of publication of results obtained during the research stay, funding through the MAPEX PhD research grant will be explicitly acknowledged.

The proposal should include the following information and not exceed two A4 pages:

 

scientific aims of the workshop

significance of the workshop for the groups involved as well as for MAPEX and the University of Bremen in general

description of the connection to the MAPEX research landscape and the interdisciplinary nature of the workshop

envisaged number of participants, duration and location of the event,

amount of funding requested

Please attach the following documents:

 

signed declaration

envisaged programme of the workshop including speakers and titles of their presentations

detailed draft budget for the entire workshop

proof of additional funding for the workshop

Please submit a brief proposal (max. 1 page) addressing the following points:

 

Group Composition: List the involved ECRs, their affiliations, and their motivation to initiate the activity.

Target Audience: Describe the intended audience, including the expected number of participants. Faculty members and senior researchers are welcome to participate.

Activity Details: Provide information on the type of event (e.g., lecture, seminar, workshop) and its objectives.

Competency Gains: Explain how the proposed activity will enhance the competencies and qualifications of both participants and organizers.

Guest Information (if applicable): Include details of the invited guest(s), such as name, affiliation, and relevance to the topic. A photo, abstract, title, and brief CV will be required for promotional purposes and can be submitted at a later stage.

Budget: Provide an estimate of the expected costs.

Benefit for MAPEX: Explain why MAPEX should support this initiative and how it will contribute to the center’s mission of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
