Jasper Praet is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for European Studies at the University of Bremen. He completed his PhD in 2025 at Ghent University, Belgium, with a thesis on populist radical right-wing climate discourse. Working on the DEUDEM-project, co-funded by DFG, FWF and NCN in the Weave framework, Jasper Praet is analyzing the domestic debates concerning EU action against democratic backsliding. His other research interests include radical right-wing parties, authoritarianism, and European democracy. His research has been published in the Politics of the Low Countries and the Journal of Political Ideologies.
