Dr Martin Erbacher is a partner at Boehmert & Boehmert, one of Germany's leading IP law firms. He specializes in patent prosecution, opposition, and portfolio management, with a strong focus on chemical technologies. His core areas of expertise include organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), solar cells, battery technologies, catalytic processes, and pharmaceutical compounds. He is experienced in securing and defending technical IP rights across both national and international jurisdictions.

Dr. Erbacher studied chemistry at the University of Bremen and worked as a research associate at its Institute of Organic Chemistry. His diploma thesis explored the synthesis and application of metallic nanoparticles, followed by a PhD focused on the synthesis of organic dyes, electrochemistry, and dye-sensitized solar cells.

He joined BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2011, became a German patent attorney in 2014, and has been a European patent attorney and EUIPO representative since 2015. He advises clients on all matters of industrial property rights, including filing strategies, oppositions, and IP enforcement.

Martin is an active member of the Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys, the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), and the German Chemical Society (GDCh).
