Malte Nentwig, LL.M.
Malte Nentwig specializes in trademark law, focusing on strategic development of trademark portfolios and conducting German and international trademark searches. He manages filings at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, the European Intellectual Property Office, and WIPO, coordinating worldwide applications for his clients. With extensive experience in maintaining international trademark portfolios, including monitoring for potential infringements, Malte supports clients in protecting, strengthening, and enforcing their trademarks. He represents clients in opposition and infringement proceedings and acts as a litigator in trademark disputes.
His expertise also extends to design patent law, advising on protection and enforcement, as well as competition law, particularly in marketing and product campaigns, including preliminary injunctions.
Malte studied law at the Universities of Kiel and Munich and earned an LL.M. from the University of Queensland, Australia. Since joining BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT in 2004, he has completed a secondment with a major international company and holds the qualification Fachanwalt für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz (specialist in IP law).
He is co-author of chapters in Handbuch Wirtschaftsstrafrecht and Manual IP (Kluwer Law International), serves on the IP Committee of the Bar Association in Bremen, and is active in INTA’s Design Committee, CITMA, and IPSANZ.
Since 2018, Best Lawyers has listed him as a recommended intellectual property lawyer in Germany.
