Dr. Rudolf Böckenholt specializes in trademark and unfair competition law, with a strong focus on building and enforcing IP portfolios. He advises primarily medium-sized and international clients in media, consumer goods, food, and pharma sectors, often handling cases where IP rights intersect with neighbouring fields such as food and pharmaceutical law. He is also experienced in contentious technical IP matters, particularly in mechanical engineering.

Dr. Böckenholt studied law with a focus on IP at the University of Münster and earned an LL.M. in international IP law after study visits in the UK and Germany. His doctoral work explored the distinction between copyright and trademark law.

With BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT since 2001, he was admitted to the bar in 2005 and became a certified IP lawyer in 2008. Rudolf frequently publishes in leading journals like GRUR-Prax and contributes to key legal commentaries, including the Münchener Anwaltshandbuch and EU Trademark Regulation. He also writes on trademark protection in real estate contexts.

Recognized by JUVE, LEGAL 500, Handelsblatt, and Best Lawyers, Rudolf is praised for his strategic thinking and practical approach. He is an active member of numerous IP associations, including INTA, IPO, ECTA, PTMG, and GRUR.
