Book Presentation „Gewaltfrei arbeiten und leben“

The presentation of the interdisciplinary edited collection „Gewaltfrei arbeiten und leben – interdisziplinäre Perspektiven, Theorien, empirische Erkenntnisse und Handlungsoptionen“ will take place on 20 June 2025, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., at Forum am Domshof.

Violence and harassment at work – (not only, but in particular) directed at women – has been an important issue for some years and drawn increased attention due to the #Me-Too movement. What does violence mean in the context of gainful employment, (paid and unpaid) care work, private life, family and gender? Which theoretical and interdisciplinary perspectives and approaches can be applied to illuminate the emergence of violence at work, in the private sphere and family? Which (work) contexts are especially affected? How can efforts to reduce violence and harassment in the work context be reinforced, in particular in view of the increased tendency of violence against women? What can the ILO (International Labour Organization) Convention 190 and the Istanbul Convention of the Council of Europe of 2011 achieve? What are the perspectives for future action? These questions are at the centre of the interdisciplinary edited volume „Gewaltfrei arbeiten und leben – interdisziplinäre Perspektiven, Theorien, empirische Erkenntnisse und Handlungsoptionen“, which will be presented to the Bremen public which the objective of entering into a transfer-oriented dialogue between science, politics, social partnership and discussing ideas for a nonviolent working and living environment.
