Zur Person

Prof. Dr. Kristina Klein ist seit Oktober 2018 Professorin für Marketing an der Universität Bremen. Sie ist Direktorin des markstones Institute of Marketing, Branding & Technology und Leiterin der dort angesiedelten Arbeitsgruppe „Konsumentenverhalten“.

Kristina Klein wurde an der Universität zu Köln von Prof. Dr. Franziska Völckner promoviert. Ihre Dissertation mit dem Titel „Essays on the Effects on Brand Names and Prices on Consumer Behavior” wurde mit dem Wissenschaftspreis des Deutschen Marketingverbandes 2013 ausgezeichnet. In ihrer Doktorandenzeit als auch in ihrer Zeit als Habilitandin an der Universität zu Köln verbrachte sie mehrere Gastaufenthalte an der University of South Wales in Sydney, an der Massey University, Auckland und der Waikato Management School in Hamilton, Neuseeland. Sie erhielt Rufe an die KU Leuven und IÉSEG Paris.

Die Ergebnisse ihrer Forschung sind in renommierten internationalen Fachzeitschriften, wie Marketing Science, dem Journal of Marketing, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Long Range Planning oder Marketing Letters veröffentlicht.

Die Schwerpunkte ihrer Forschung sind drei Bereichen zuzuordnen. Zum Einen beschäftigt sie sich mit internationaler Markenführung und -positionierung. Darüber hinaus sind einige ihrer Forschungsprojekte im Bereich des sensorischen Marketings angesiedelt. Frau Klein untersucht hier die Effekte von Musik und Duft auf das Verhalten von Konsumenten. Der dritte Bereich umfasst Projekte rund um die digitale Transformation, z.B. wie Gamification und Serious Games im Marketing eingesetzt werden können. Ein Projekt, das Designparameter von Chatbots untersuchen soll, ist bei der Graduiertengruppe „Diginomics“ an der Universität Bremen angedockt.
