International Guest students

We encourage students to develop their language skills and to study or do an internship abroad. Such periods of study abroad can be funded. The duration of a stay abroad should normally be one or two semesters and can be undertaken from the third semester onwards. The Institute of Geography maintains partnerships with universities in almost all European countries. Geography students also regularly apply successfully for faculty- and university-wide exchanges in the USA, Canada, Russia, Israel, Colombia, Taiwan, South Korea, India, Brazil, Canada and Mexico.

International guest students from our partner universities are welcome to study in Bremen for one or two semesters. If you know enough German, you may take any course from our BA and MA programmes. If you do not speak German sufficiently, but English at an intermediate level (B2), we usually offer 2 courses in English at Bachelor level and our MSc. in Physical Geography is completely in english. Together with dozens of courses instructed in English at the Faculty of Social Sciences and other departments, it is possible to study a full course load at Bachelor and Master Level..
