Poem alternatives for Germany, interdisciplinary project “One university, one book”
In the winter semester, an interdisciplinary course is offered in this context as part of General Studies (supplementary studies, studium generale). The course with the number 10-GS-2-05 can be found (in Stud.IP of course and) in the university-wide supplementary studies / studium generale / language and literature studies and in the general studies offered by Faculty 10 (module: studium generale).
On the bike to Worpswede
The destination of this year's excursion of the Research Centre for European Environmental Law (FEU) was the Artists' Colony at Worpswede.
While the bike ride took place in pouring rain, bright sunshine compensated the team around Professor Franzius at Worpswede. All participants enjoyed the off-campus exchange.
Theodor Körner Award (Stefan Heiss)
Stefan Heiss has received the Theodor Körner Award for his dissertation project. The Theodor Körner Fund supports rising scientists from a wide range of disciplines. Laureates have already done excellent work in their fields and further innovative work can be expected. The prize was presented by the Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen (on the right in the picture). Stefan Heiss's project was the only work in the field of law to receive an award.
Successful participation of the Faculty in the Justus-Liebig Moot Court
For the first time, the Faculty of Law of the University of Bremen took part in the Justus-Liebig Moot Court this year. The competition, which was jointly organised for the eleventh time by the Lawyers' Association Frankfurt and the Chair of Prof. Dr. Martin Gutzeit of the Universitý of Gießen, has taken place every year since 2011 in the form of simulated civil proceedings before a German court.
Seminar on Maritime Law
On 16 and 17 June 2022 the Seminar on Maritime Law: Artificial Intelligence and Digitalisation took place at the law firm Dr. Schackow & Partner at Domshof. Students presented their seminar papers on legal questions of international maritime law with regard to autonomous shipping. The challenges posed by this technology were discussed with experts from industry and the Federal Administration.
Yufe Law Conference in Rijeka
Professors Pia Lange and Lars Viellechner from Bremen University at the opening panel of the YUFE Law Conference on Sustainability as a Legal Principle in Rijeka - more to follow!
Seminar on Spiekeroog
From 7 to 10 June 2022 the Research Centre for European Environmental Law and international law firm McDermott Will & Emery organised a seminar on „Environmental law and Public Economic Law“ at the isle of Spiekeroog.
