After the very successful work during the first funding period (2014 – 2017, see Newsletter 03), the transregional collaborative research centre 136 “Function-oriented manufacturing based on characteristic process signatures” is now entering the second funding phase. From 2018 to 2021, the group of researchers around Ekkard Brinksmeier (University of Bremen) and Fritz Klocke (RWTH Aachen) will continue their work together with colleagues from the Oklahoma State University. In their fall meeting the DFG grants committee has allocated 9.5 million Euro for the second funding phase of the CRC.
