CEECON 2022

On October 6-7, 2022, the first edition of the DGO-Congress of Central and East European Studies took place at the Free University Berlin. The Congress is designed to be the largest multidisciplinary conference on Central and Eastern Europe in the German-speaking realm. The event is a cooperation project between the German Association for East European Studies (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Osteuropakunde / DGO e.V.) and the FUB Institute for East European Studies (Osteuropa-Institut / OEI).

The Congress featured seven discipline-specific sections, e.g. Law and Economy, and several plenary sessions.

Michael Rochlitz contributed to the organization of the Congress and also moderated a plenary discussion “30 Years of Transition: The Effects of the Political Upheavals on Research in East European Studies” with panelists Tomila Lankina (London School of Economics) and Martin Schulze Wessel (LMU Munich).
