On April 9-10th 2024, Prof.Dr. Melanie Böckmann and Prof. Gabriele Bolte from Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP) at the University of Bremen, attended a meeting of the World Health Organisation (WHO) as invited experts in Bonn. Since the beginning of the year Prof.Dr. Böckmann, head of department Global Health at IPP, has been a member of the Document Development Group (DDG) to update the official WHO guidance on dealing with extreme heat (heat health action guidance). The document is due to be published by the end of 2025 and will be distributed to regional and national governments within the WHO European region.

Prof. Bolte, managing director and head of department Social Epidemiologie at IPP participated as head of the WHO Collaborating Center for Environmental Health Inequalities and as an expert on environmental and climate justice.
