The IPP
Shaping health for all. Sharing knowledge. Creating a sustainable future together.
IPP's mission includes research, teaching and knowledge transfer in public health and nursing research. The work at the IPP is characterised by interdisciplinarity and diverse methodological expertise. The IPP is a research and teaching institute within Faculty 11 (Human and Health Sciences) of the University of Bremen and was founded in 2005. In terms of both student numbers and research output, the IPP is one of the central institutions in public health and nursing in Germany: more than 100 scientists conduct research and teach in interdisciplinary teams in a total of twelve departments and working groups. Our central guiding principles in research and teaching are evidence-based practice, user-centredness, practical relevance, gender sensitivity, applied perspectives and interdisciplinarity. We are a proud member of the High Profile Research Area Health Sciences Bremen, one of the six High Profile Areas of the University of Bremen. The IPP is the WHO Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health Inequalities.
