The article “Entrepreneurial acquisitions and small-cap private equity overlaps: A resource-based view” by Dr Alexander Pöschl and Prof. Dr Jörg Freiling, published in the Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review, examines the growing overlaps between Entrepreneurship through Acquisition (ETA) and small- and micro-cap private equity in the acquisition of small and medium-sized enterprises in the DACH region.

The study shows that, alongside growing competition for suitable target companies, there are also opportunities for cooperation between the two groups of players. The findings provide new insights into a previously under-researched segment of the private equity market and contribute to a better understanding of the dynamics in the market for business succession.
