Introduction

Dr. Ekaterina Vorobeva is a postdoctoral researcher at LEMEX at the University of Bremen. She has previously contributed to research projects focusing on forced migration, transnationalism, and migrant entrepreneurship. Her doctoral dissertation on migrant entrepreneurship in Russia, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, was defended with distinction at the University of Bremen in 2024. In recent years, she has held visiting scholar positions at Harvard University (USA), the University of Helsinki (Finland), and Marmara University (Turkey). Dr. Vorobeva has published extensively in leading journals such as the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, International Migration, Diaspora Studies, and Global Networks.
