Introduction
Leon Marquardt has been a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Chair of Small Business, Start-ups and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX) at the University of Bremen under Prof. Dr. Jörg Freiling since October 2020. As a member of the ‘Diginomics’ graduate group, his research focuses on the interfaces between digitalisation and entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on entrepreneurial ecosystems, digital entrepreneurship and rural entrepreneurship.
As part of future concepts bremen, he is also involved in teaching and teaches students agile methods and innovative approaches to project management and business model development. Furthermore, he coaches and supports bachelor's and master's students in various courses. Within this transfer project, he implements practical formats and collaborations with regional partners from the field in order to bridge the gap between science and practice. He is also actively involved in projects such as the ‘German Start-up Award for School Students’ and is committed to teaching these topics and skills outside the university.
Leon is an active member of several professional associations, including the Academy of Management and the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. He is also involved as a reviewer for journals such as the Journal of Business Research, The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Geoforum, as well as for conferences such as the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management and the RENT Conference.
