Musicians from many genres have repeatedly emphasised the importance of time, even claiming that music is the very art of time. The special issue “Time, Sound, and Musical Experience” of KronoScope corroborates these claims from the perspective of various practitioners to highlight some of the multiple scales and contexts of time and timing in music, and to also put them into wider experiential and conceptual contexts.
