We are pleased to announce the special session “Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals” to be held at Interspeech 2018, Hyderabad, India, during 2-6 September 2018 (http://interspeech2018.org). Particular topics include, but are not limited to:
Speech Synthesis from Speech-Related Biosignals,
Speech Recognition from Biosignals,
Acquisition of non-acoustic speech data using different modalities (e.g. Electromyography, Electroencephalography, Electrocorticography, Electromagnetic Articulography, Permanent Magnet Articulography, Ultrasound, Video, etc.),
Silent Speech Interfaces,
Neural Representations of Speech and Language.
Depending on the number of accepted submissions, the session will include oral presentations as well as posters, and – if time permits – live demonstrations of direct synthesis systems.
Paper submissions must conform on the format defined on the Interspeech web site (http://interspeech2018.org/papers/). When submitting the paper, please indicate that the paper should be included in the Special Session on Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals. All submissions will take part in the normal paper review process.
Abstract submission: March 16, 2018
Final paper submission: March 23, 2018
Acceptance notification: June 3, 2018
Conference dates: September 2-6, 2018
