Special Session: Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals

We are pleased to announce the special session “Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals” to be held at Interspeech 2018, Hyderabad, India, during 2-6 September 2018 (http://interspeech2018.org). Particular topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Speech Synthesis from Speech-Related Biosignals,

  • Speech Recognition from Biosignals,

  • Articulatory Synthesis

  • Acquisition of non-acoustic speech data using different modalities (e.g. Electromyography, Electroencephalography, Electrocorticography, Electromagnetic Articulography, Permanent Magnet Articulography, Ultrasound, Video, etc.),

  • Silent Speech Interfaces,

  • Lip Reading,

  • Neural Representations of Speech and Language.

Depending on the number of accepted submissions, the session will include oral presentations as well as posters, and – if time permits – live demonstrations of direct synthesis systems.

Paper submissions must conform on the format defined on the Interspeech web site (http://interspeech2018.org/papers/). When submitting the paper, please indicate that the paper should be included in the Special Session on Novel Paradigms for Direct Synthesis based on Speech-Related Biosignals. All submissions will take part in the normal paper review process.

Important dates

  • Abstract submission: March 16, 2018

  • Final paper submission: March 23, 2018

  • Acceptance notification: June 3, 2018

  • Conference dates: September 2-6, 2018
