German-Ukrainian project: Evaluating Science Organisations

Within the project "Evaluating Science Organisations in Ukraine (Eval-Science)",

the team of Igor Yegorov (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), Jutta Günther, Tobias Wendler (both University of Bremen), Dagmar Simon (Evaconsult and WZB Berlin) and Ernst Th. Rietschel (acatech) have prepared a project report entitled:
Experience report: Developing an evaluation scheme for the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine based on experiences of the Leibniz Association
The project is rooted in the innovation system theory, recognizing that science organisations are an important element of any national innovation system. One of the objectives of the project is to further develop indicators that describe and measure scientific performance. This is done within the context of creating a suitable evaluation procedure for the research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Thereby, the project team strongly draws upon the rich experiences of the Leibniz Association in evaluating institutes in Germany, and assesses the potential for transferring insights to the Ukrainian case. First experiences are now documented in the report.
