Kehinde Medase ist Postdoktorand in der Arbeitsgruppe für Volkswirtschaftslehre insbes. Innovations- und Strukturökonomik an der Universität Bremen. Er arbeitet eng mit Professorin Jutta Günther und Dr. Ann Hipp am Projekt "Modernisierungshemmnisse in Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft der DDR (Mod-Block-DDR)" zusammen.
Kehinde hat am 13. Dezember 2019 seine Promotion an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena abgeschlossen, die vom Katholischen Akademischen Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD) gefördert wurde. Seine Dissertation "Dynamic Capabilities and Innovation Optimisation: A Firm-level Empirical Analysis" untersucht die heterogene Natur dynamischer Fähigkeiten und ihre Auswirkungen auf Innovationen. Kehinde hat seine Arbeit in namhaften Innovationszeitschriften veröffentlicht und an vielen Konferenzen im In- und Ausland teilgenommen, wo er die meisten seiner aktuellen und laufenden wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten präsentierte. Darüber hinaus ist Kehinde regelmäßiger Gutachter für eine Reihe von Fachzeitschriften aus den Bereichen Innovation, Entrepreneurship und Unternehmensführung.
Vor und während seiner Promotionsphase war Kehinde als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Wirtschaftspolitik der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena tätig und unterstützte bei der Betreuung von Masterarbeiten. Außerdem unterrichtete er ehrenamtlich am Lehrstuhl für Unternehmensdynamik, Innovation und wirtschaftlichen Wandel und betreute Semesterendprüfungen in den Fächern Innovationssysteme, Entrepreneurship und Regionalentwicklung. Im Rahmen seiner beruflichen Laufbahn arbeitete Kehinde auch an einem Projekt an der Universität Jena über die Regionalisierung deutscher Patente von 1989-1990 (DDR-Patente).
Kehinde war ein Queen Elizabeth Scholar Emerging Scholar, ein Stipendienprogramm, das von der Open African Innovation Research (Open AIR) an der Universität Ottawa, Kanada, in Verbindung mit dem DST/NRF/Newton Fund Trilateral Chair in Transformative Innovation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Sustainable Development, College of Business and Economics, der Universität Johannesburg, wo er derzeit als Senior Research Associate tätig ist, ausgeschrieben wurde.
Seine Hauptforschungsinteressen liegen in der Ökonomie des Unternehmertums und der Innovation, der Erforschung von Wissen, einschließlich offener Innovation, Kreativität und Wissenstransfer, sowie im Management, der Unternehmensstrategie und dem Wachstum, die eine Untergruppe der dynamischen Fähigkeiten darstellen. Darüber hinaus interessiert er sich für die Entstehung und das Fortbestehen von Innovation und Unternehmertum in ländlichen bzw. städtischen Regionen - eine wissenschaftliche Fragestellung, die auf die Bedeutung aller Orte, ob in Städten oder in der Peripherie, für die Entstehung von Innovation und Unternehmertum hinweist. Folglich hat er ein wachsendes Interesse an Gender Economics, Regionalökonomie, Wirtschaftsgeographie und Ökonometrie.
