Our teaching focus

The department is primarily involved in teaching within the BA Public Health / Health Sciences,  the Master's programme Public Health / Health Promotion and the Master’s programme Psychology

We supervise bachelor's and master's theses and dissertations in all of our research areas. For a list of current topics, see here.

Our main research areas

Prevention and health promotion represent key components of sustainable health systems. At the same time, we see significant social inequalities across both the distribution of health and health-related behaviours.

This motivates our research into the content and conditions that underpin effective and equitable disease prevention, health promotion, and behaviour change interventions. We focus particularly on understanding how individual determinants of health interact with environmental factors—including healthcare infrastructure and local community resources—to influence health outcomes and behaviours.

Digital solutions and interventions are becoming increasingly prominent. We therefore examine the conditions and contexts under which digital technologies can effectively advance health outcomes, and how these should be designed to reach as broad an audience as possible.
