We've arrived!

Health and nursing scientists at the University of Bremen have been conducting research and teaching in the Humanities 1 (GW1) building at the University of Bremen since October.

Finally arrived: In October 2025, colleagues from the Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP), together with colleagues from the administration, the study centre and lecturers from Faculty 11 Human and Health Sciences, moved to their new location in the Humanities 1 (GW1) building at the University of Bremen. The move was preceded by a planning and preparation phase lasting almost two years, involving many participants from the University of Bremen's space and building management, the central university IT department, the Faculty 11 departmental administration and, last but not least, the IPP itself. The relocation of around 150 employees and students from the departments of Public Health, Nursing Sciences and Psychology was a logistically and planning-wise challenging undertaking for everyone involved. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of colleagues from space management, building administration and the IPP's IT staff, many of the employees' wishes and suggestions for the new premises were implemented. The move itself was excellently organised and went largely smoothly for everyone. Thanks to the commitment of all employees, it was possible to continue working seamlessly even during the move.

In October, we were able to move into spacious, newly renovated rooms in the historic GW1, the oldest building at the University of Bremen. The fact that all our workspaces are now located in one connected building complex is already noticeably promoting creative collaboration through short distances and personal encounters. Various meeting rooms, seminar rooms, and work spaces for students provide a stimulating environment for research, teaching, study, and collaboration with our partners from academia, industry, and society. The location between the university campus to the east, the Kleine Wümme river to the south, the Bürgerpark to the west, and the Universum to the north makes working here attractive and fits in with our vision "Shaping health for all. Sharing knowledge. Creating a sustainable future together".
