The German Research Network provides a certificate infrastructure (DFN-PKI) through which members of the University of Bremen can obtain server and user certificates. These certificates are accepted by all major operating systems and web browsers.

With a server certificate, administrators secure access to the services offered by your servers. The instructions guide you through the certificate application process.

Personal certificates are mainly used to encrypt your e-mail correspondence. For more information, please visit the application page.

When authenticating (logging in) with a second factor, in addition to the user name and password another factor is used to verify your identity.
