There is a works agreement on wireless LAN (WLAN) on the University of Bremen campus with the Staff Council, in the context of which a total of three reports have been prepared since 2001 "on the assessment of exposure to radio frequency electromagnetic radiation from radio networks at the University of Bremen". These reports are available on the website of the Staff Council.
The basic principle of the equipment is that access points should not be installed in rooms with permanent workstations. If this is necessary in individual cases (e. g. due to cable routes), a distance of 3m to the next permanent workstation is maintained. Only the access point models covered by the above-mentioned assessments are used.
The Centre for Networks (ZfN) continuously monitors scientific findings in this area and becomes active if necessary.
