Directions

Anfahrtsplan

Arriving by train

You should exit Bremen's main train station on the south side (city center). Cabs and public transportation leave directly from the station square. To get to the University of Bremen by cab, you will pay about 17€. It is cheaper to take public transportation. Take Tram Line 6 in the direction of the University and get off at the stop "Universität/ Zentralbereich".

Tickets are available at the ticket machine in the first carriage of the tram for € 2.85 per single trip, € 10.40 for a 4-trip ticket or € 8 for a day ticket (price level I, valid in the Bremen city area without Bremen-Nord). Detailed information on the websites of Bremen Public Transport: Bremer Straßenbahn.

The conference office is located in building GW2, room B3.010. From the stop "Universität/ Zentralbereich" walk straight ahead through the glass hall, across the courtyard, to the entrance of building GW2. There you go up the stairs, and on the third floor you will find room B3.010 directly opposite the stairs.

Trams and buses in Bremen

Bremen's network of tramways is extensive and, in view of the scarcity of parking spaces, a recommendable alternative to cars, especially in the city center. Most lines run every 10 minutes during the daytime.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machine in the first car with cash or a debit card. The other, smaller machines require a subscription card. On the bus, tickets are sold when boarding. The fares for Bremen city are as follows:

  • Single trip: 2,85€ or 4-trip ticket: 10,40€
  • Day ticket: 8€  plus 3€ for each additional adult

Please observe the latest Corona regulations Corona-Schutzmaßnahmen der BSAG.

Timetables and further information can also be found on the BSAG website.

Arriving by car

If you are coming from the A1, change at Bremer Kreuz to the A27 in the direction of Bremen-Bremerhaven. Leave the A27 at the exit Universität/ Horn-Lehe and drive in the direction of Centrum/ Universität. At the third traffic light turn right into Universitätsallee, then at the next traffic light turn right into Enrique-Schmidt-Straße.

You can park your car in the Underground car park of the building GW2. Parking there costs € 1.50 per day and per entry (please have the exact amount with you – there is no change). The entrance to the underground parking lot is located at the end of Enrique-Schmidt-Straße, somewhat hidden behind a small parking lot.

In the underground car park, follow the signs to "Eingang GW2/Turm C". The conference office on the 3rd floor can be reached by elevator.

Low-Emission Zone

A low-emission zone has been set up in Bremen's city center and the Neustadt district. This zone may only be entered by vehicles with a green sticker, but the university is located outside the low-emission zone.

For more details, please consult the following website.
