Subject

For you as a student application starts with awareness of your professional profile and knowledge, concerning options on the job market and application procedures. As an international student you can use your international background as an advantage - by looking for employers that can use your specific language skills and your local expertise for their business in Germany.

As a student of business and IT you can use the specifics of your field of studies to differentiate yourself from other applicants.

During the workshop we will

  • analyze your professional profile (international background, expert skills gained by studies, relevant individual experience, core skills - but also wishes) with the goal, to use the outcomes for building a strategy for application.
  • provide relevant information concerning the job market in Germany - with the aim of building an expedient search strategy (where do I find interesting employers).
  • create first ideas about how to bring together the highlights of your profile and the needs of employers for your application (written and verbal).

Procedure for the online course:
You participate via the Moodle learning room of beruf&leben GbR - there will be preparatory tasks and the possibility for interactive live plenary discussions. 5-6 days before the workshop you will receive the login code by email from the Career Center.

In summary:

  • Material and tasks for preparation in the trainer-moderated Moodle course room approx. 5 days before workshop.
  • Joint online presence; with interactive learning situations (video meeting parallel to Moodle) approx. 4 hours.
  • Feedback and follow-up (further work on workshop topics, transfer phase) up to 5 days (or more) after end of workshop in Moodle course room.

Requirements on your side are: stable internet - and a laptop or PC with working audio/video. The preparatory tasks can be worked on at your own pace a few days before the workshop - for the "online presence phase" itself it is necessary that all participants are in the moodle classroom at the same time.

Registrations for July run from 18 April to Thursday, 13 June 2024 via elearning.uni-bremen.de (Event Search / Search in Course Catalogue / Interdisciplinary Study Programmes / Career Center under: Gender- & Diversity-Kompetenzen).
