Minute's Silence for Students murdered in Kenya

On April 2, 2015 147 students were killed and at least 78 people were wounded during the terrorist attack at Gerissa University Vollege in Kenya.

In remembrance of this attack, the European University Association (EUA) invites all European universities to observe a minute’s silence on Monday 27 April, 2015.

In doing so, EUA reaffirms its belief that any act of violence or attack on education runs counter to the fundamental university values of freedom of thought and expression, tolerance and autonomy and undermines the ambition and fundamental right of any young person to gain qualifications and make a contribution to their nation, society and the world.

The rectorate of the University of Bremen agrees with this opinion. Members of the University of Bremen also observed a minute’s silence.
