For the THE-Ranking 2024, information from 1904 Universities from 108 countries was compared. The ranking is based on a rating of five different categories:

Selected Results for the University of Bremen 2024
In THE World University Ranking 2024, the top rankings are dominated by the USA and the UK. The USA is represented in the TOP 200 with 56 institutions, followed by the UK with 25 TOP 200 institutions. Germany ranks third with 21 institutions in the TOP 200.
Overall, the University of Bremen ranks 301-350 out of all participating institutions worldwide. Solely comparing the results among German universities, the University of Bremen thus achieves rank 32.

Over 1,500 institutions from 105 higher education systems were ranked for the QS Ranking 2025. There are 48 universities from Germany represented in this ranking. Of these, 19 (39.58%) were able to improve their rank compared to the previous year, while 26 (54.17%) lost positions and three other institutions (6.25%) were able to maintain their rank.

UI GreenMetric World University Ranking
1,183 universities worldwide took part in the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking 2023. The ranking has been carried out annually since 2010 by the University of Indonesia, the largest state university in Indonesia. A comprehensive and detailed list of criteria evaluates the participating universities in terms of sustainability in six different categories:
- Settting & Infrastructure
- Energy & Climate Change
- Waste
- Water
- Transportation
- Education & Research
Overall, the University of Bremen is ranked 10th out of all participating institutions worldwide.
