Banking Hall at Forum at Domshof
Knowledge Is the New Currency!
Where money once changed hands, knowledge now changes minds.
On the ground floor of Forum am Domshof - just beyond the grand foyer - the Banking Hall is being transformed into a multifunctional meeting space. Here, the University of Bremen will showcase its rich interdisciplinary diversity and foster vibrant exchange between the university and the city. This “third place” invites dialogue, interactive knowledge sharing, and creative exploration at the intersection of science, research, and society.

The Idea Behind the Banking Hall
Discover, experiment, and engage in dialogue. The Banking Hall is a meeting place for science and society.
The range of possibilities is vast:
- Dialogue events on socially relevant topics
- Workshops, maker sessions, and creative hands-on activities
- Readings and performance art
- Exhibitions
- and much more...
We are currently developing a regular program of events and testing out different formats.

Protest and Social Movements between Innovation and Tradition
Conference
October 01 and 02, 2025
Whether it's Fridays for Future, Black Lives Matter, or the Yellow Vests, waves of protest often arise suddenly - and profoundly change political discourse. But they do not exist in isolation. They build on earlier movements, transform familiar forms of action, or invent new ones - both analog and digital. This conference is an invitation to an interdisciplinary exchange on the history, present, and future of social movements. The conference will be held in English.
