Guideline for the responsible assessment and evaluation of academic performance

The University of Bremen is committed to responsible assessment and evaluation of academic performance. We value the diversity of academic achievements and qualifications. Research, teaching and transfer are essential dimensions for us, in which we assess academic performance using a broad selection of suitable criteria and thus reduce dependence on individual and isolated research metrics (such as publications and citations).

Animal Testing in Research and Teaching

At the University of Bremen, animals are used for research into the systemic basis of neuropsychiatric diseases, for diabetes research, and for basic research in brain research. Animal experiments are controversial in the public sphere and misinformation often circulates. This page on animal experiments at the University of Bremen is currently being created to counteract this. It is intended to provide insight into the goals, motivation, and work with animals at this scientific institution.
