Karin and Heinz-Otto Peitgen Foundation

The foundation

On 24 December 2015, the non-profit "Karin and Heinz-Otto Peitgen Foundation" was established as a trust foundation under the umbrella of the University of Bremen Foundation. Its purpose is to promote culture, science and research, in particular by supporting research and teaching at the University of Bremen as well as young academics. The foundation's funding priorities are applied research aimed at digital innovations, particularly in medicine, and further strengthening the university's excellence in this future-oriented field, as well as specific projects, for example in teacher training or focussed teaching practice, which strive for equal opportunities for children from socially disadvantaged families through the innovative use of digital media and methods

The Board of Trustees decides on the use of the funds. It consists of

    the founders, Prof. Dr Dr.-Ing. h.c. Heinz-Otto Peitgen and Karin Peitgen
    the Rector of the University of Bremen, Prof Dr Jutta Günther
    Dr Nanette Peitgen
    Dr Elena Peitgen

The Board of Trustees meets once a year in autumn. Decisions on applications are made then and by circulation.
