Open Worlds – Share Knowledge! - OPEN CAMPUS of the University of Bremen
The OPEN CAMPUS took place on the campus of the University of Bremen on June 23rd + 24th, 2023.
The OPEN CAMPUS started on Saturday afternoon. In the approximately 35 information tents, the visitors could inform themselves about the various study programs, research projects and offers of the university. The International Office also presented itself, together with the Academy HERE Ahead. In the Pagoda, there were information booths as well as an Arabic lounge with tea and pastries, which was very well received. This was followed by the big live concert with GENTLEMAN.

Research Ambassador Workshop
On Wednesday, 27. August 2023, the President Prof. Jutta Günther and the Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity Dr. Mandy Boehnke welcomed the Research Ambassadors to the University of Bremen. They invited them to share their experiences of the last few years. Among other things, the Covid pandemic and its impact on academic life were discussed. This was followed by some workshops on communication and social media, as well as sustainability. On Friday, the leaders of the U Bremen Research Alliance, the Alumni Network, YUFE and BYRD - Bremen Early Career Researcher Development invited to an exchange. The Open Campus on Saturday then marked the end of the successful workshop.

Inaugural visit by the President, Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther at the University of Groningen
On June 16, our President Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther and Barbara Hasenmüller, Erasmus university coordinator, visited the University of Groningen. During the inaugural visit, a new memorandum of understanding was signed by Prof. Günther and Prof. Jouke de Vries, President of the Board.

NAFSA Conference 30 May - 2 June 2023
NAFSA, the world's largest association for international education and exchange, hosted the 75th NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo. The Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity, Dr Mandy Boehnke, and the Head of the International Office, Dr Marejke Baethge, represented the University of Bremen there. Beforehand, Ms Boehnke and Ms Baethge visited the University of Guelph in Canada to talk about the existing cooperation and to agree on new projects.

Café International mit Dr. Mandy Boehnke, Konrektorin für Internationalität, wissenschaftliche Qualifizierung und Diversität
Jeden Mittwoch im Semester von 16.00 Uhr bis 18:00 Uhr treffen sich internationale Wissenschaftler:innen und Doktorand:innen in der Etage 2a der Cafeteria im GW 2. Am 24. Mai war Frau Dr. Mandy Boehnke, Konrektorin für Internationalität, wissenschaftliche Qualifizierung und Diversität, zu Gast bei dem Café International und hat sich mit den Besuchern unterhalten.

Visit of the Dickinson College - New Red Chairs on Campus
On April 27, two new Dickinson chairs were formally dedicated on campus. The chairs were placed on campus as a token of the more than 30-year partnership between Dickinson College and University of Bremen beginning in 2015. The new bright red chairs found their place in front of the Galileo Residence. Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther, President University of Bremen and Samantha Brandauer, Dickinson College inaugurated the two chairs.

Lecture from Canada about "Legacies Of War: Historical Research On Underwater Munitions"
On Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 6:00 pm, the University of Bremen hosted in cooperation with RTG Contradiction Studies and the University of Guelph, Canada a guest lecture on "Legacies of War: Historical Research on Underwater Munitions" by Dr. Alex Souchen. Welcome Event for international Freshmen
On April 14, Dr. Marejke Baethge-Assenkamp, Head of the International Office and Dr. Mandy Boehnke, the Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity welcomed all new international students of the university of Bremen. The event offered a wide range of possibilites to get together with some cake and coffee. Moreover the new students got the chance to get some household goods at the free shop to start well in the upcoming semester in Bremen.

The kompass program offered a visit to the Kunsthalle Bremen as part of the "Happy Places in Bremen" series of events.
