Research-based learning and research on the theatre stage
In the project series "From the files to the stage", history students have been researching topics relating to the regional history of the 20th century since 2007. The results of their research are then published. The special thing about it: A staged reading is then distilled from the research findings and brought to the stage by the university's partner, the bremer shakespeare company. This project is supported by the historian Dr Eva Schöck-Quinteros and the actor Peter Lüchinger.
The current project "No refuge. Nowhere: The Evian Conference and the voyage of the St. Louis" focuses on the persecution of Jews under Nazi rule and the failed attempt by 937 people to escape this persecution.

Practical teaching - economics students trained to become certified derivatives traders
For the first time, six economics students have successfully passed their examination to become certified derivatives traders at Deutsche Börse's Capital Market Academy. They were able to acquire this demanding additional qualification as part of a course taught by Prof Lars Hornuf, in which not only the theory but also the practice of trading on a derivatives exchange was taught in cooperation with Deutsche Börse.
The Bremen Stock Exchange Foundation supports this transfer in teaching by paying part of the examination fees.

Summer camp of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics: student teams work on questions from business practice
In summer 2019, the third summer camp of the Department of Economics took place during the semester break. For three weeks, 13 student teams worked on tasks from business practice that were set for them by business partners from the region. The students were able to apply the methodological knowledge they had acquired during their studies, develop their soft skills and use the projects for their professional orientation. In addition to the concrete project results, the summer camp offered the companies the opportunity to present themselves as potential employers.

Research-based learning: students create audio walk on the memory of forced labourers
Transfer in teaching combines research-based learning and practical relevance. A particularly impressive example of this is the creation of an audio walk on the memory of forced labourers as part of a project in which students researched the history of a satellite concentration camp in Bremen's Gröpelingen district.
