The University magazine goes online: New service “BUS aktuell”

All eyes to the right of the page: As of now, that is where you will find access to “BUS aktuell”, the University of Bremen’s new online magazine. As the abbreviation BUS reveals, it is an extension to “Bremer Uni-Schlüssel”, the printed internal news periodical of the University of Bremen.

“It was high time to introduce an internal online magazine for members of the University: No printed version can be quite so up-to-date”, says the leader of the University’s communication bureau, Eberhard Scholz. “Numbering some 20,000 students and 3,400 employees, the University has virtually become a suburb of Bremen in its own right, and a lot goes on here.” In these modern times of mobile media and real-time news reporting the new online magazine “BUSaktuell” will fill an important gap. The kick-off contains lots of interesting contributions written especially for the launch issue.

The online magazine (in German only) is intended for all members of the University and its alumni, but also of course for any members of the public who may be interested. What’s going on at the University of Bremen? Up-to-date reports, portraits, short interviews, service information, and important events will receive coverage as well as entertaining stories taken from everyday campus life. As is also the case for the printed Bremer Uni-Schlüssel: Not all topics can be covered by BUS aktuell – but that still leaves a lot that can. The editorial staff will take care to present an optimized online format. The aim is to present an interesting mix of information about everyday life and work at our University in a concise and focused manner.

Longer articles containing more background information will of course still be available in the quarterly printed BUS issues, the “Bremer Uni-Schlüssel”.
