International Conference FISM

The aim of the international conference 'Failing Identities, Schools and Migrations - Teaching in (Trans-)National Constellations' (Uni Bremen, October 2018), was a critical reflection upon of the role of pedagogy in (trans-)national constellations of teaching and learning resulting from global migration processes. The focus was on school education and on teacher education as a central field of linking academic and practical discourses. The aim of the conference was to facilitate a productive international exchange on the question of how appropriate professional practices are situated in the context of migration societies and to consider different national contexts with their specific conditions.

The conference was funded by the Mercator Foundation, the DFG, the Wolfgang Ritter Foundation and the Hertie Foundation.
