Survey Project “Deutschlandweit-gefragt.de“ Gets Underway

“Justice“ and “personal prospects“ – these are the core themes of the first nation-wide Internet survey undertaken by the research project entitled “Deutschlandweit-gefragt.de“, which has just been begun within the context of “Germany in Transition” [Deutschland im Wandel]. “The project addresses current issues of society in transition and inquires into the living conditions, experiences, values and mind sets of the general population“, says Uwe Engel, professor of sociology at the University of Bremen.

Prof. Engel, who is in charge of the project, heads the research area “Statistics and Empirical Social Research“ at the Institute of Empirical and Applied Sociology (EMPAS) in the Social Science Faculty of the University of Bremen. The survey is less concerned with headline topics than with fundamental issues. The idea behind Deutschlandweit-gefragt.de: the German population will be invited to take part in different surveys. Those who do will later be informed about the results of the statistical evaluations – naturally everything will be kept strictly anonymous.

Interested persons will be given the opportunity to examine the results more closely and can also participate in a discussion forum. Everyone over 16 years old can take part. It is a simple matter to register on the homepage of the project at www.deutschlandweit-gefragt.de. “Deutschlandweit-gefragt.de“ is a scientific project initiated by the University of Bremen. It is being funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
