Workshops and Events

The Office for Practice and International Affairs organizes various events, seminars and workshops with direct practical relevance throughout the academic year. Some events have a fixed time window each year, others are offered once on specific dates.

An overview provides the figure on the left.

Annual events are the Practical Experience Summer Camp, the Career Networking Evening and the Seminar "Application and Career Management".

The Practical Experience Summer Camp is an offer in the elective area of General Studies (Industry Specific Career Orientation I: 6 CP) and usually takes place directly after the examination period in the summer semester. It is an intensive 3-week event, in which 10 companies bring in specific project tasks, which are handled by student teams (max 5 students). As a rule, most of the work is done directly in the company. While the opening and closing events are fixed dates in plenum, the project duration in between is individually coordinated in the teams, together with the companies. At the final event, the project results of all teams will be presented. Not only undergraduate students of business administration are welcome, but also students of our cooperative study programs and of computer science as well as corresponding master's programs. Even if a recognition in the study course can not take place, then all participants receive a participation certificate at the end. If this event is successfully completed, this module can be listed as an additional service in the final certificate. Due to a limit of 50 participating students early registration is recommended. Representatives of various industries are represented. So far representatives from Abat, Encoway, EWE Vertrieb, Hmmh, KAEFER, STUTE and We4IT

The career networking evening was first successfully held in 2016 and has been held every November since then. On this evening, 50 students will have the opportunity to network with 10 companies in a relaxed atmosphere with finger food and drinks. The number of companies and students is deliberately limited to give everyone the opportunity to interact extensively with various company representatives. This can be about finding an internship or even getting into the job. Not only students of BWL/WIWI are welcome, but also students of our cooperation programs and computer science. Early registration is advised. So far representatives from Abat, Allos Hofmanufaktur, BLG, BTC, Capgemini, HEC, KPMG, Kuehne & Nagel, Uzuner Colsulting and Vitakraft will be in attendance.

The seminar "Application and Career Management" is an offer in the elective area of General Studies (Industry Specific Career Orientation I: 6 CP) and usually takes place in the winter semester. With this offer, we would like to provide students with the most up-to-date information on the topic of application and career entry. For this reason, we invite for each seminar module HR professionals who deal with professional recruiting tasks in everyday life. The seminar is made up of four modules that build on each other and will be offered in October / November: 1.) Potential analysis 2.) From job search to application 3.) Interview training and 4.) Assessment center training. In January, the final presentations will take place, the tasks of which will be announced in the 4th module. Not only undergraduate students of business administration are welcome, but also students of our cooperative study programs as well as corresponding master's programs. Even if a recognition in the study course can not take place, then this module can be listed with the submission as an additional achievement in the certificate.

In 2019 we will be testing a new event format – the WIWI Internship Contact Fair. On November 13, 2019, about 25 companies of various sizes and industries will be presenting to our students in fair format. The first floor of the WiWi1 building will become a trade fair location between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm with various stands and opportunities to network and exchange views.

Which concrete events are offered in the current semester can always be viewed via Stud.IP (course "Studienbegleitprogramm") on the schedule. Practice-relevant events become recognizable with the marking "Praxis". You can also log in here (Participants > Groups > Entry in group – a multiple selection is possible).

Furthermore, these are announced and advertised on Facebook. With a like on the page "Praxis und Internationales FB 7 Uni Bremen" you stay informed.
