For inclusion in a master's degree is the completion of studies at the Bachelor's level requirement.
The subject-specific entry requirements are set out in the current Aufnahme-/Zulassungsordnung (admission regulations).
It also includes the different deadlines for the provision of evidence.

Course Structure

The four-semester Master’s programme in Production Engineering and Management is designed as a single-subject programme. A total of 120 credits are awarded; this equates to approximately 30 credits ECTS per semester.

The programme is structured as follows:

Compulsory Modules (96 credits):

   Module area ‘Business Administration’ (12 credits)
   Module area ‘Production Techniques’ (12 credits)
   Module area ‘Methods’ (12 credits)
   Module ‘Industrial Placement’ (12 credits)
   Module area “Specialist Complementary Studies” (6 credits), freely selectable from a suggested list
   Module “Teaching Project” (12 credits)
   Module “Master’s Thesis with Colloquium” (30 credits)

Compulsory Elective Modules (24 credits):

   Module area "Subject-specific Specialisation" (24 credits)

Students choose one of the following specialisations:

   Systems Development and Innovation Management
       Systems Development and Innovation Management I (12 credits)
       Systems Development and Innovation Management II (12 credits)
   Logistics and Production Management
       Logistics and Production Management I (12 credits)
       Logistics and Production Management II (12 credits)

The Masters' programme includes a 10-week industrial placement of 12 credits.

A semester abroad is not compulsory, but can be undertaken on a voluntary basis

A stay abroad can be incorporated into the degree programme in the form of a study placement or an internship abroad.

Information on opportunities for internships or semesters abroad is available from the International Office at the University of Bremen and the Erasmus/Internationalisation Coordinator in the Faculty of Production Engineering: fb04int@uni-bremen.de.

Traditional areas of work for industrial engineers include

• project management,
  product planning and development,
  production planning and control,
  procurement and logistics,
  sales and controlling in mechanical and plant engineering,
  management consultancy

for example, in the following sectors:

• Automotive industry
  Aerospace industry
  Food and beverage industry
  Steel industry and testing facilities

However, there are also interesting career opportunities in management consultancy, service and retail companies, as well as in academic research.

Within the departments and institutes of the Production Engineering and Economics faculties, for example, there is also the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications through one of the numerous PhD positions available.

The departments and institutes of our faculties and the surrounding research  facilities always offer a large varietey of PhD positions.
