The English-taught study program is characterized by a comprehensive solution-oriented fundamental training in the three natural science disciplines.
The interdisciplinary nature of this study program is echoed even on the level of modules as numerous modules are taught together by scientists from different faculties. The subsequent compulsory elective modules (Focus Area) allow an individual specialization to prepare for a subject-specific Master´s degree.

A special feature is the individual specialization in the 5^th semester. You can choose between:
 

• Physics (Earth Observation, Data Analysis and Visualization, Atmospheric Chemistry and Biogeochemistry Cycles, Renewable Energy Resources and Infrastructures)
• Biology (Current Research in Ecology and Biodiversity, Methods in Molecular Biosciences, Marine Ecology)
• Geosciences (From Past to Future Ocean Conditions, Research Data Management and Analysis, Earth-System Modeling and Data Analysis, Physical, Chemical and Biological Oceanography)

The innovative teaching concept of thinking about the topic of sustainability from three scientific disciplines in a solution-orientated way includes:

• seminars
• exercises
• practicals and project exercises.
• Students contribute to seminars with their own presentations, in project exercises they solve specific tasks together.
