Study description

The Master's degree program Applied Geosciences deepens the basic skills after the Bachelor's degree with a focus on continental geosciences, including topics such as hydrogeology, engineering geology, glaciology and renewable energy resources. Method-oriented teaching enables graduates to work scientifically in a wide range of application fields.

Students choose up to four specialisations from a broad range of core subjects with numerous combination options. They acquire a multidisciplinary understanding of modern geosciences. Advanced field training and computer applications round off the spectrum of competences. The combination of modules in German as well as in English and the possibility to take exams in both languages marks the bilingualism of the study program. The focus of the study program on applied aspects of geosciences, combined with the bilingual character of the study program, opens up the best perspectives for graduates in industry and business on a national and international level.
