The countdown has begun: Only few days left to OPEN CAMPUS Day at Uni Bremen!
On the dot of 3.00 p.m. on 21st June, all the University has to offer will be on show to the public, including a wide range of attention-grabbing laboratories and learning workshops, all intent on presenting what the University of Bremen is all about and providing insights into the diversity and internationality of life on campus.
Under the motto „Welten öffnen - Wissen teilen“ [Opening worlds – sharing knowledge] we invite everyone in the region, whether young or old, to come and see for themselves the excellence of research and teaching made in Bremen – learn, marvel, and join in.
Hands-on Science and Research
How does the University function? What can you study here, and what are the scholars and scientists occupied with at the Bremen University of Excellence? Beside a colorful program put on by Bremen Vier radio, every corner and tent on the campus park will be filled with fascinating and entertaining offers for both young and old: Hands-on research, original talks and presentations, science shows, Science Slam, musical and dance performances by international students and information about the international communities embedded in the University, and guided tours of the campus in English and German. Throughout the whole day, in building NW1 visitors will be able to attend a variety of short lectures on topics of current interest. Lucky winners of a small university quiz will be able to visit the 147-meter high drop tower – including a glimpse inside its conical glass rooftop. There will even be special ‘lectures’ for children. In addition to this, the University’s children’s laboratory will be open to the public. Children will also be able to join in a special program on the Bremen Vier stage. And visitors will be sure to find something to their liking from the wide offers of snacks and refreshments stands spread all over the campus.
“One year after the University of Bremen’s momentous success as winner in the Excellence Initiative, we are happy to welcome all members of the public to come and view our campus and learn something about the fascinating research going on here, the different opportunities for studying, and everything else the University has to offer in service of society and the town of Bremen. Everyone is welcome to attend our OPEN CAMPUS Day!” says Prof. Yasemin Karaka?o?lu, Vice Rectress of the University of Bremen.
Music and party in the evening: Top Act Flo Mega
At 9.00 p.m. the open-air party will begin, complete with DJ, grill master Flash, and top act Flo Mega – the Bremen soul singers. Everyone is welcome to come – and entrance is gratis!

- Public transport: Streetcar number 6, bus lines 21, 22, 28 and 31 direction University, exit at “Zentralbereich.” Streetcar number 6 will put on a special service every ten minutes into the night.
