U Bremen Research Alliance Welcomes International Researchers

Around 120 people attended the annual reception for international researchers hosted by the University of Bremen and the twelve other research institutions of UBRA.

All international PhD fellows, postdocs, and professors from the various research institutions of the U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA) were invited to the reception, which this time took place at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS. Around 120 people followed the invitation, came together to network, and learn about each other's research projects. In her welcoming address, Mandy Boehnke, Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity, emphasized the importance of international cooperation. In her view, academic exchange has never been more important than today to find solutions for global challenges. The reception was organized by the Welcome Center, which is often the first point of contact for international researchers in the UBRA research landscape.

The U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA)

The U Bremen Research Alliance brings together the University of Bremen and twelve non-university research institutes funded by the Federal Government and the states. It comprises research institutes of the four major German scientific organizations – the Fraunhofer Society, the Helmholtz Association, the Leibniz Association, and the Max Planck Society, as well as the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. Cooperation in the U Bremen Research Alliance spans the four high-profile areas of "Marine, Polar and Climate Research," "Materials Sciences and their Technologies," "Health Sciences," and "Minds, Media, Machines."
