WWUB brings together articles on current developments in the field of teaching and learning, provides access to freely available teaching and learning materials and a comprehensive university teaching toolbox, and contains experience reports and information on qualification and support services.
Based on the University of Bremen's mission statement on teaching, the website offers interested parties a wide range of information in five sections. The “Teaching and Learning” section contains current articles on teaching and learning methods, information on digital tools and open educational resources (OER), and references to support services. The site also provides access to detailed decision-making guidance on copyright and the comprehensive university teaching toolbox “Inspiration Hochschullehre” (Inspiration for University Teaching). The “Participation” section covers topics such as course guidance, student participation, and accessible teaching. The “Diversity” section is dedicated to issues of diversity and heterogeneity in studying and teaching. Those who want to develop their teaching in new ways will find inspiration and experience reports in the “Shaping Change” section, for example on the use of (co-)creative and innovative approaches and methods. The “Sustainability” section provides suggestions on which aspects should be considered when developing and implementing teaching concepts in line with sustainability principles. In addition, an event calendar provides information on conferences and meetings focusing on the creation of good teaching practices – both at the University of Bremen and at other institutions.
WissensWert was developed as part of the project “SKILL – studierendenzentriert | kollaborativ | innovativ | Lehren und Lernen an der Universität Bremen” (SKILL – student-centered | collaborative | innovative | teaching and learning at the University of Bremen) as a collaboration between the Academy of Continuing Education, the field of university didactics and teaching innovation, the Administrative Unit for Teaching and Studies, the Studierwerkstatt, the Bremen State and University Library, and the ZMML – Center for Multimedia in Higher Education at the University of Bremen. The project was financially supported by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education as part of the “Strengthening Higher Education through Digitalization” funding line from August 2021 to December 2025.
