Nasima Selim joined the Institute of Anthropology and Cultural Research at the University of Bremen in October 2025 as Professor of Public Anthropology.

Rainer Malaka, Professor of Digital Media and Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics / Computer Science, has been honored with the 2025 IFIP Fellow Award from the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).

Researchers at the University of Bremen have uncovered significant discrepancies between the data protection claims and the actual behavior of mobile health applications (mHealth apps). Many apps transmit personal data before users have even given their consent.
